Our Reed Beds
As a brewery, we clearly use a lot of water to brew our beer. So in 2014, we built a reed bed system to clean our waste water through a natural, anaerobic digestion treatment system. This allows us to filter cleaned water back into the local watershed without damaging the environment or putting it back into the mains water system for cleaning chemically.
This innovative, wetland drainage system is right next to the brewery, eliminating the need to move water unnecessarily. It is part of our on-going effort to build a sustainable brewery for the long-term future. It is an integral part of who we are and what we do.
As our lagers become ever-more popular, we are conscious of our potential for increased impact on the environment. That’s why Freedom will continue to invest in projects like this to ensure we are as green as possible.
